Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a sales/marketing strategy for different markets in collaboration with the Commercial team, incorporating a specific customer strategy.
  • Take responsibility for marketing and procurement of fruit, including all commodities for the export market.
  • Regularly communicate sales prices and market conditions, which may involve direct grower communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Manage the supply and demand plan between customers and growers.
  • Communicate packaging requirements.
  • Control stock (inventory) age and ensure fruit is sold within agreed guidelines.
  • Manage supplier agreements.
  • Handle claim management of allocated customers according to policy guidelines to minimize losses.
  • Manage financial aspects of accounts in conjunction with finance, including trade within defined credit limits and ensuring timely payment by customers within defined payment terms.
  • Seek out new business opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification
  • Previous experience in the fruit industry as a marketer, trader, or buyer. (grapes)
  • Strong administration skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Background knowledge of product flow.
  • Valid drivers license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Salary: Market-related salary with provident fund and medical aid contribution.
