An Internationally recognised grower, packer and exporter of citrus fruit and table grapes is looking for an Assistant Production Manager in Swellendam
The company has a vacancy for an assistant to the production manager for a citrus farm outside Swellendam.
This is an ideal opportunity for an agriculture graduate that needs experience to start his/her career in agriculture to ultimately become a production manager and future farm manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Production:
- Planting of citrus
- Irrigation scheduling
- Application of fertilizer
- Pest and plague control, pruning
- Harvesting,
- Monitoring, all manipulations
- Personnel and administration:
- Labor planning and management
- Recordkeeping
- Transport and accommodation planning
- Maintenance (equipment / orchards/ general)
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS
- Matric with a relevant tertiary qualification
- Up to three years’ experience in the cultivation of citrus
- Knowledge of sound production practices
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Good administrative and communication skills
- Ability to work with people and lead teams
- Driver’s license
