Accounting Specialist

Zeminwe Recruitment is looking for an accounting specialist to join a large growing company in the Northern Suburbs in Western Cape. The accountant role will manage over 25 companies in the Food sector.

Primary Responsibilities

• Process monthly transactions for the accounting specialist role.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage bank deposits,
• Reconcile and process petty cash and cash control accounts.
• Maintain and update a fixed asset register.
• Manage general ledger postings, and statements.
• Handle debtors’ and creditors’ statements.
• Analyse trial balances and conduct an analytical review of annual financial statements.
• Formulate accounting policies and prepare notes to financial statements.
• Discuss monthly management accounts with directors and store managers.
• Provide accounting specialist and clerical support as needed.
• Manage monthly planning and assist with payroll preparation.
• Liaise with clients regarding payments for statutory returns and other financial obligations.

Required Skills and Attributes

• Proficiency in Pastel Accounting Software for an accounting specialist.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, Provisional Tax, PAYE, UIF, and SDL.
• Expertise in financial reporting, trial balance analysis, and drafting annual financial statements.
• Competent in managing SARS queries, audits, and statutory submissions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience in processing transactions and maintaining accurate financial records is essential for an accounting specialist.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and handle complex reconciliations.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders effectively.
• Matric with relevant Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or relevant degree.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Own vehicle.

SALARY: R35 000 to R45 000 Experience Based
